The Indian Navy’s “Northeast Odyssey” Motorbike Expedition, aimed at fostering maritime awareness among youth, launched its second leg from Guwahati on October 23, 2024. A team of 23 sea riders, including two women, embarked on this adventurous journey to engage with young people across the northeastern states, sharing experiences of life in the Navy and their commitment to the nation.
During a significant outreach event at Bhelauguri Anchalik Government High School in Tezpur, the riders interacted with enthusiastic students and teachers, sharing real-life insights into the vital role of the Indian Navy in protecting the nation's maritime frontiers. Students engaged eagerly, gaining a deeper understanding of the Navy’s contributions to national security and the importance of maritime consciousness for a strong, unified nation.
On October 24, 2024, the expedition team was warmly received by Arunachal Pradesh Governor Lt Gen KT Parnaik (Retd) at the Raj Bhawan in Itanagar. The Hon’ble Governor commended the Navy riders for their commitment to igniting patriotism among the youth and for promoting awareness of India’s rich maritime heritage in the hill state. He praised the team’s efforts in inspiring a new generation to consider careers in the Indian Navy, underscoring the importance of maritime security in India’s overall defense framework.
